The Lutheran understanding of grace is that the Holy Spirit
enables us to grow in the knowledge and love of God; it is not
something we accomplish by ourselves. This process of growth is
essential to being a disciple of Christ and is a lifelong
process for all those of the congregation. Therefore, the
educational opportunities at St. John aim to “make disciples” of
all believers. We offer a variety of classes at a variety of
time and days in order to provide the opportunities to grow in
faith and understanding of the Bible and our Christian beliefs.
You are invited to take a glimpse of what we offer for all
ages. Contact our Minister of Christian Education if you have
difficulty finding something that is suitable for you or your
family.
For the children of our church, we offer Children's Chapel
every Sunday during worship. This is an excellent opportunity
for children to participate in worship and enjoy adult
supervised activities together during sermon time to obtain a
better understanding of the gospel. In addition, we have Sunday
School classes for children beginning at the age of 3 every
Sunday at 9:45. We also offer First Communion classes for our
children, too. For our youth, we have Youth Group which provides
special activities and outings for grades 6 through 12. Youth
group meets every Sunday evening for dinner and programs. Also
for our youth, we have a Confirmation program dedicated to
preparing our youth to identify more deeply with the Christian
community & participate more fully in its mission.

For the adults of our church, we have many classes during the
Sunday School hour each week. A great number of small groups
for men, women, couples, and singles meet throughout the week.
These groups offer both study and fellowship opportunities.
Various Bible studies also meet throughout the week. Watch for
special classes during the year.
For the whole family, we offer Crossroads every Wednesday
evening from September through early spring. This program offers
a combination of dinner, discussions, education, and fellowship
for all ages each week.
