Chapel]
The Worship and
Music Ministry Team provides overall guidance and leadership to promote
and encourage the worship life of the
congregation.
The
following list of worship ministries fall under the umbrella of the Worship and
Music Ministry. These ministries are all staffed by volunteers
and training for each function is provided.
Acolyte:
Acolytes are usually youth who
light the candles at the altar before each liturgical worship service
and extinguish them after each service. For those in 6th grade
through adults; training is provided and should be arranged prior to the
first assigned Sunday.
Altar Guild Ministry:
Members prepare the altar for worship and set up and take down
communion before and after services. Training is provided.
Children's Chapel Leader/Assistant:
These team members take the children ages four to seven out of the
sanctuary for an age-appropriate learning experience during the
sermon. Materials are prepared by the Children's Ministry
Team. Sign up along, with a friend or as a family.

Communion
assistants:
These helpers are adults that help distribute the communion
elements during the worship services. Communion
Bread Bakers:
The bread bakers bake communion bread for the worship services.
Bread can be baked a day
or two before the assigned service. Recipe and instructions
provided. Crucifer:
The Crucifer carries the processional cross into church at the beginning
of each liturgical worship service and carries it out again at the
end; for those in 6th grade through adults; training is provided
and should be arranged in advance of the first assigned
Sunday. Greeters:
Greet worshippers
at the front door prior to the service. You can sign up alone, as part of
a pair, or as a family. Lector/Reader:
Reads
the day's Bible readings during worship; training available and
recommended; lessons mailed to you prior to the Sunday they are to be
read to enable practice; notified when training sessions are scheduled.
Nursery Assistant:
Along with the nursery staff person, provide care for infants through
four years old during worship time. Need both adults and youth in
6th grade or older. W.O.W. – Worship Outreach To The World
Ministry:
Team members provide audiotapes of entire worship services and MP3
files of Bible readings and sermons to shut-ins and others who wish to
listen again to a specific sermon. This ministry is also meaningful for
those to whom a particular service has special significance (baptism,
reception into membership, First Communion, Confirmation, etc.). The MP3
files can be emailed by members to family and friends all over the world –
hence the name W.O.W. You can find the W.O.W. link on the homepage
under "Downloads." Training is provided for each of the varied
tasks, which include recording services, duplicating tapes, producing MP3
files, and preparing them for distribution and database storage.
Ushers:
Ushers help direct people before, during and after the worship
services. They distribute worship bulletins; gather offerings;
direct worshippers at communion time; clean up the sanctuary following
worship; children may sign up with their parents.
