In the World

The need is great in the mission field of the world, whether it’s down the street in Roanoke or half-way around the world. We focus a significant amount of resources on missions, near and far.
Our focus internationally is on two sites: Nicaragua and Zambia. Mission teams meet throughout the year to raise funds and plan trips to minister to those in need. You can be involved with either of these missions without leaving home! While we have mission trips to these locations, those who support the ministry and mission at home are needed just as much! Volunteers are needed year-round to assist these efforts. Shephalterd: Chriss Davies-Ross and Pastor Elijah Mwitanti

Nicaragua

alt

In Nicaragua, Jo Anne Yon seeks opportunities to connect St. John with people in need. As a member of the Medical Ministry International (MMI) team, Jo Anne sets up medical and dental clinics where teams from St. John are invited to provide care and Christian education. St. John and friends of the church provide sponsorships to the 52 children at Rancho Hebron, the home of Nicolas and Karla Diaz. Here, the children receive care in a Christian environment that includes shelter, food, education and health care.

Medical and Dental Mission to Bluefields in Nicaragua July 24 - August 2, 2010.

Contact Cary Mangus for details.

Zambia      altalt

In Zambia, Karen ReMine, CEO of OMNI (Orphan Medical Network International) continues to make great strides at the OMNI village. They currently have about 165 children at the school. With the help of sponsorships from St. John and other churches, OMNI provides food, clothing and education for these children. Periodically OMNI sets up medical clinics where St. John is invited to provide medical and dental care.

Mission to Zambia - April 5-18, 2010

An OMNI team of 16 will be in Zambia to tend to orphans, children and adults with medical care, shelter, and spiritual needs. The team includes comprises members from seven states, including six people from Virginia. They will travel to various parts of the country to administer care and compassion to as many as possible. During their journey, please pray for them. The prayer calendar is a wonderful aid that also provides insight to the areas of the country where they will serve.
